Professional Experience
Since 2018, Mia (she/they) has supported the work of various growth-stage NGOs ranging from urban food security initiatives to refugee resettlement and girls’ education-focused programs throughout the US and abroad. Currently, Mia lives and works in Uganda, leading resource mobilization for a grassroots organization focused on girls’ education, reproductive justice, and economic inclusion. Recognizing the critical role of inclusive policies for young folks, Mia has co-developed strategies for incorporating youth voices in organizational design and spearhead the development of a youth advisory committee.
Driven to support movements in scaling their impact, they have a passion for building the resiliency of organizations by seeking out trust-based funding opportunities with partners committed to funding equity and the decolonization of giving practices.
Achievements
Mia has secured over 2M in multi-year funding for growth-stage non-profits, along with strengthening existing partnerships and funding relationships, leading to increases in funding commitments.
